NEW YORK - Early Thursday afternoon, a rumble was heard within the American Express building near the remains of the World Trade Center. People yelled and scrambled into the street. Radio reports predicted the collapse of the skyscraper's roof. In the end it turned out to be a piece of masonry falling from a nearby building's facade.
